By harmonizing your breath, you are balancing your nervous system and impact your physical, emotional and mental states. Your harmonizing breath heals misalignments impacting your wellness and well-being. 

About Breathwork

Breathwork is a therapeutic and transformative process that uses conscious breathing to harmonize the nervous system, release physical and emotional tension, and access profound states of awareness. This practice encompasses a variety of techniques aimed at improving mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Psychological research has demonstrated the efficacy of breathwork in reducing anxiety and enhancing mood. A study published in the Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy found that breathwork interventions significantly alleviated symptoms of depression and anxiety, suggesting its potential as a complementary treatment for these conditions. Additionally, a meta-analysis highlighted that deliberate breath control can effectively reduce stress and improve mental health outcomes.

From a shamanic perspective, breathwork is viewed as a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. Indigenous traditions have long utilized breath as a tool for healing and spiritual connection. Shamanic breathwork integrates rhythmic breathing, music, and movement to facilitate deep personal transformation and healing, allowing practitioners to access altered states of consciousness and connect with their inner wisdom.

Drawing from over 18 years of experience in the healing arts, I combine breathwork with my background as a craniosacral therapist, board-certified coach, mindfulness practitioner, and energy worker. My holistic approach integrates somatic psychology, expressive arts, and energy work to guide individuals and groups through profound experiences of self-discovery and transformation.

What to Expect in a Breathwork Session

Each session is an intuitive and guided journey tailored to your unique needs. You will be invited to connect with your breath through rhythmic and mindful breathing techniques, exploring the relationship between your breath, body, and emotions.

Sessions may include:

  • Gentle verbal guidance to bring awareness to your breath and body.
  • Breath holds, pauses, and natural movement to release tension..
  • A carefully curated soundtrack to support your journey.
  • Your senses will be heightened, you might experience visuals, auditory and body sensations, you might feel hot, or cold;
  • You might feel like something is pulling you up, or pulling you down
  • You might feel your body vibrating, or spasming
  • you might experience tetany, locking your hands, which disappears 
  • you might feel emotions coming up, ready to be released through your body

Remember that you are in control of how deeply you experience these sensations. You need to trust your body and readiness to let go, to surrender to the mental resistance and get to the other side. 

 

Contraindications to Consider

While breathwork is safe for most, it may not be suitable for individuals with:

  • Cardiovascular conditions, high blood pressure, aneurysm, detached retina, or recent surgeries.
  • Severe respiratory issues like asthma.
  • A history of psychosis, schizophrenia, Bipolar, or severe PTSD.
  • Pregnancy without prior medical consultation.
  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders.
  • Osteoporosis

Although NeuroBeat Breatwork is a Trauma Informed practice, severe trauma might not be the most fitting to the Breakthrough Experience. A person with severe trauma could start with gentle calming breaths to get familiar with the process, slowly easing into trusting own body.
