60-min Focusing-Oriented Expressive Arts (FOAT) session, transformative and integrative approach that combines mindfulness, expressive arts, and Focusing-Oriented Therapy (FOT) to help you access your inner wisdom, process emotions, and find clarity. In a supportive, non-judgmental environment, you are guided to tune into your inner felt sense—a bodily awareness that holds insights into your emotional and mental state—and creatively express it through various art modalities such as drawing, movement, or writing.

What to Expect in a FOAT Session

  1. Mindful Check-In:

    • The session begins with grounding techniques, such as breathwork or a body scan, to bring you into the present moment and help you connect with your inner awareness.
  2. Tuning into the Felt Sense:

    • With gentle guidance, you are invited to focus inward and notice any bodily sensations, emotions, or intuitive impressions. This is the “felt sense,” a subtle and often wordless awareness.
  3. Exploration and Dialogue:

    • You’ll engage with your felt sense by asking it open-ended questions like “What is this feeling trying to tell me?” or “What does it need right now?”
    • A non-judgmental, curious approach allows the felt sense to unfold and reveal deeper insights.
  4. Creative Expression:

    • You’ll channel your felt sense through an expressive arts modality that feels natural to you. For example:
      • Drawing or painting: To visually represent emotions or sensations.
      • Writing or poetry: To articulate thoughts and feelings.
      • Movement or sound: To embody and release energy physically.
    • This creative process provides a safe outlet for emotions and enhances clarity.
  5. Integration and Reflection:

    • The session concludes with reflection on what was discovered or released. You’ll integrate insights and discuss practical ways to apply them in daily life.

I hold space with the utmost care, integrity, and respect. With years of training in somatic modalities, mindfulness, and expressive arts, I guide each session with attuned presence and an understanding of the body’s wisdom.

I’m a Certified FOAT Facilitator through Focusing-Oriented Expressive Arts Institute since 2017, a mindfulness-based approach developed by Dr. Laury Rappaport that integrates renowned psychologist and philosopher Eugene Gendlin’s Focusing with the expressive arts.

I believe healing happens when the body, mind, and spirit are in harmony, and I’m here to support your journey with compassion and full presence.
